THROWBACK THURSDAY: Miami Horror – Don’t Be On With Her

Miami Horror have been hard at work on their second album this year, and recently just released their excellent new single “Real Slow” featuring Sarah Chernoff. They’re also doing a bunch of gigs over the next couple of months, details here.

BUT even though new music is always exciting, let’s not forget the classic songs that have gotten us to where we are now! Introducing our new fortnightly Throwback Thursday posts, where we reminisce on an oldie but a goodie.

To start us off, let’s take a look back on one of Miami Horror’s very first single from the debut EP Bravado  – “Don’t Be On With Her”. This song introduced me to Miami Horror and I’ve been an avid follower of them since. It samples Prince’s “When Doves Cry”, and producer Benjamin Plant couples this with a huge amount of synths and 80s disco vibes, bringing about the ultimate feel good dance song. To me, it’s an ideal pre drinks song, something that pumps everyone up.

Hometown: Melbourne, Australia.
Upcoming Album: Look forward to their second album being released Autumn 2014.
Sounds like: Pnau, YACHT, Jupiter.
Say what? To tide you over until their long awaited second album, Miami Horror created a video blog titled “Making of Album 2″. It’s a pretty fun insight into how the band works behind the scenes.
