Crooked Colours – In Your Bones

Perth lads, Crooked Colours, have just released the lead single from their upcoming EP In Your Bones. The EP is hot off the heels of their runaway single, “Come Down”, which has been getting serious airplay on triple j.

The single, of the same name, begins with a super simple guitar melody and progresses into a well-produced lo-fi electronic piece of work. The haunting lyrics are punctured by a throbbing drum track that reaches a rousing peak and then drops back to end just as it started, with the simple yet effective guitar line.

The former triple j feature act is gearing up for a busy few months. The group is due to play the Bunbury Groovin’ The Moo and then they’re joining RÜFÜS for a series of shows over May and June.

THE BREAKDOWN:

Hometown: Perth, Australia.
Latest EP: In Your Bones, due to be released May 9 2014 through Sweat It Out Music.
Sounds like: Jagwar Ma, Four Tet, SBTRKT.
Say what? The band’s heavy synth sound is due in no small part to Leon’s addiction to buying synths off eBay.

Later, skater – Casey
