Louis The Child may conjure up an image of a royal seven year old kid; a Frankish king ruling in the 10th century to be precise. However, if you fast forward a few centuries and ask yourself who and what exactly Louis The Child is, you’ll be looking at the modern day DJ duo from Chicago, Freddy Kennett and Robby Hauldren. The budding duo dabble in electro, house and french electro music and seem to be on the path towards becoming electro music royalty. Their catchphrase, “We want to make people happy with music” rings true, especially for their upbeat remix of the famous indie rock band Bombay Bicycle Club’s folktastic tune.
These two soon-to-be electronic kings have reworked the indie vibes with a magical twist. The original vocals are largely left planted, leaving the organic indie rock roots intact. The young duo manage to make the song bloom into a happy-go-lucky song using dance worthy beats, with an overlay of joyful arpeggios and cheerful synths to get the party started, and a burst of hip-hop which stays with you, making your body move to the music.
Louis The Child will be lighting up the US festival stage, playing at Spring Awakening 2014 at Soldier Field on 15th June and at Outskirts Summer Festival on 25th July. Since we live on Aussie soil, why not press play right now and see what all the hype is about?
