Shoffy – Into Oblivion

Singer-producer Shoffy (Alexander Shofler) has just dropped his first own release “Into Oblivion” which will be featured on his upcoming debut EP.

Shoffy’s a big fan of Jack Kerouac as seen on his Soundcloud:

“Nothing behind me, everything ahead of me, as is ever so on the road.”

Coming out of the City of Angels, this keen traveler, music maker and beanie-wearer has begun to craft a new sound – a fusion of electronic, indie, pop, R&B and soul.

Shoffy’s been pretty brave in picking and mixing from a variety of genres. A steady tempo with muted drums, harmonising vocals, blended guitars and warping synths make it sound like you’re cruising along a long coastal road with nothing but the crash of waves to fill your ears. This solo artist dabbles in a large variety of atmospheric instrumentation and shows promise. Although there are many electronic artists trying to find their feet, Shoffy’s urge to travel shines through his sound and makes for a dreamy holiday where all you do is wander.

So, if you’re feeling the need to go for a bit of a wander, check out Shoffy.

Oblivion (n): the state of being unaware or unconscious of what is happening

Shoffy definitely executes a dreamscape where you’re pretty much floating on waters of unconsciousness. One word of advice to our tasteful art felicis readers – try not to fall off the edge!

Hometown: Los Angeles, CA.
Sounds like: The Kite String Tangle, Low Roar, Snakehips
Say what? Shoffy’s enjoys watching Moonrise Kingdom.

Je suis la imaginer, Imogen.
