Golden boy Harley Streten – Flume has delivered.
Two days ago Flume unexpectedly dropped a re-work of Chet Faker‘s “Gold”, stoking his bromance to new levels. Don’t forget, these two great musos have worked together before in their joint EP Lockjaw last year. Flume’s rendition of “Gold” is risky, but seems to maintain its cool vibe. You know what they say – you have to risk it for the biscuit! Starting in 2011, Flume now has an international following.
“You gotta know, I’m feeling love /
You gotta know, I’m feeling love.”
If you want to catch this winning combo, you’re in luck. Both Flume and Chet Faker (Chume, if you like) will feature at Listen Out 2014 in September. Another thing, earlier this year Flume mentioned in a Facebook post that a second album is “very much underway”. Hopefully, this means that Flume will drop a new album sometime this year. Advice from art felicis – just be ready.
THE BREAKDOWN:
Hometown: Sydney, Australia.
Latest single: Chet Faker – “Gold” (Flume Re-Work) released 8 July 2014.
Sounds like: Chume… (sorry, not sorry).
Say what? This song was Flume’s favourite off Chet Faker’s debut album Built on Glass.
