Ben Browning – Make It Easy

unnamed

Usually the bassist in Cut CopyBen Browning is bringing the goods solo-style. Introducing his title single “Make It Easy”, from his album Turns preparing to drop mid-June.

It’s poppy, bright and hook-driven – not too far removed from Cut Copy itself but a little more Sunday beachside road-trip, a little less dark underground dance floor.

Browning is actually a later addition to Cut Copy and he already has some solo experience – he released his debut EP Lover Motion in 2012 shortly after he joined the band in 2010. Cut Copy have actually been around since back in 2001. I don’t know about you but I didn’t have the refined taste to be listening to the likes of Cut Copy when I was 10. More like “Teenage Dirtbag” and “Case of the Ex“, amiright.

“Make It Easy” is definitely his better work to date. Is it time to bring indie synth pop back some love?

THE BREAKDOWN:

Hometown: Melbourne, Australia.
Upcoming LP: Turns, out 16 June 2015.
Sounds Like: Todd Terje, Clubfeet, YesYou.
Say What? Browning used to get stoned with his housemate and listen to Daft Punk’s Discovery on repeat for about two years after it came out.

Exclusively hand-picked just for you, by Jane.
