Tame Impala – Eventually

Tame Impala

Tame Impala‘s new song “Eventually” is making us as excited as when you order food at a restaurant and your glorious plate of mouth-watering goodness is carried over to you by said waiter or waitress. The track will feature on forthcoming album, Currents, which will drop in July.

Born and bred in Perth, the band was snatched up in 2010 with the release of debut album, InnerspeakerTheir psychedelic rock tunes are brought to you by frontman Kevin Parker (vocals, guitar), drummers Jay “Gumby” Watson and Julien “Frenchie” Barbagallo, Dominic Simper (bass, guitar, synth) and Cam Avery slapping the bass.

“Eventually” was performed live for the first time at Levitation (formerly Austin Psych Fest) a day after its release. The track sounds like a stunned Impala happily lolloping in the woods with big spacey synths, Parker’s floating vocals, and dazzling drum beats. Holding gritty vibes from the 60s and 70s, the song taps into the buildup to a breakup with a retro twist.

The bittersweet tones sound like a cosmos of cruel indifference and shattering heartbreak. A winner and a loser? A loser and a loser? Clearly a band member is going through some rough stuff in their love life and decided to spell it out in a song.

Wish I could turn you back into a stranger
Cause If I was never in your life
You wouldn’t have to change this

But I know that I’ll be happier
And I know you will too
Said, I know that I’ll be happier
And I know you will too

Tame Impala bringing you all the feels you need to get through the week. Currently on tour in the US, the band will fly down under to rock out at Splendour in the Grass in July.
