REVIEW // AlunaGeorge – I Remember ft. Flume

It was only a matter of time before AlunaGeorge and Flume collaborated.

Their respective catalogues are at the forefront of their glitchy electronica genre, and two rights gotta make a right, right?

AlunaGeorge is so far doing well at raising expectations for their upcoming album with every single they release. ‘I’m In Control’ with its seductively subtle charm, and now ‘I Remember’. This album is being eagerly awaited by yours truly.

How do they make every single one of their songs so sexual yet so pretty? “I remember the sound / Of your heart racing when you do bad things to me”. All sung in Aluna’s sultry, sultry voice over tinkling vocal loops and whimsical synths.

‘I Remember’ is not very far removed from everything else that AlunaGeorga has produced in their past, but it’s got that AlunaGeorge hook which is what makes their music so addictive, with extra atmospheric production and bleep-bloops courtesy of Flume. If there’s something that Flume does well, it’s creating a total atmosphere and mood. This is why ‘I Remember’ manages to stand out in a crowded marketplace full of glitch electronica.

Be sure to check out the video clip for its creep factor in a The Ring way.
